This blog concerns our first "appeal" to reverse (that is, to "unban") somebody who asked us (I think, very politely!!) to. And, his message sure had me convinced (see previous post). However, for this BanListing to work we have to consider the views of the full executive committee (the founders). Any one of us can put someone on the BAN list. Any one of us, CAN REVERSE that. And, any TWO of us are the "final court of appeals" in the even of any disagreement (friends can disagree and stay friends right?).
Well, I did read what Tony (and Ching) wrote in previous blog. Now here is the writing of Bob, which means it is two Executive Committee votes to KEEP the Ban, not change to reverse it. Here's Bob:

Earl did write and apologize for his racist remarks and blamed it all on "demon rum". I have studied the effects of alcohol and I can professionally say that even one beer or 1 glass of wine starts to tear down our inhabitions and we do and say things that we would normally not say or do. That is not to say that we would no longer think them, we just would not say them! His alcohol consumption merely tore the mask off of his blatent racism and his hate of Asians....he did not catagorize them as Japanese, Chinese, Philippinos, Koreans, etc... he lumped them all together. After sobering up he did not bother to clarify which Asian race he diliked, though he did say that it was his experiences in Viet Nam and Korea that fueled his racism. Bottom line: He is a racist. Whether covert or overt, racism is just plan ugly!! Leave him banned.

Well, that sounds convincing to me and, either way it is now 2 to 1 in favor of keeping the ban. I do appreciate the time that was spent on this topic. It appears that "the shah" spent about 2 split seconds to brand Tony and Ching as criminals (as Tony explained, the accuser was speaking of a felony crime in USA), and that is at the very least, reckless and careless and even DEFAMATION. It is the behavior of a TROLL.
And, it appears very clear to me, that if somebody BANS one of our people then the least we can do for them is to BAN THEM TOO, and why not, BAN anyone who is a moderator at their group too - birds of a feather fly together and get BANNED together.
Sorry. The ban remains.
Reminder to group owners. We do NOT WISH TO BAN people just because we do not like them. We do NOT ACCEPT your ban list because, like this guy "the shah" you may be a racist or a "trigger happy guy" who just bans people for fun. We do NOT WISH to get into personality disputes or go along with group owners who ban for fun.
If you are a yahoo or google group owner who is wishing to FIGHT BACK against the internet Trolls and Spammers here is a useful tool for you to use - copy our BAN LISTING onto a word for windows document you save, and then BAN them up to 200 at a time per day, until you get them all. BAN every last one of them, trolls and spammers. Fight back.
It is so true what the English Lord, Sir Edmund Burke, said to His King in defense of the American revolution - not a traitor but someone the WORLD should admire: "the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil internet Trolls and Spammers, is for the good group owners to do nothing. Fight back. Ban them. Participate and report them to http://BanListing.blogspot.com.
Put on your group homepage or in a "welcome message" our warning (see sidebar) to all trolls and spammers GO AWAY.
Dirty is not the pix of sexy girls, it is the places on the internet where wicked, evil trolls and spammers run free to bother the rest of us. Isn't it about time, we fight back?
One last thing. I am still being a Catholic, a strong believer in Redemption. If somebody has been a drunk in the past they can be redeemed. A racist in the past, they can change. A troll, they can reverse their course. But, we must remember our Teachings. God does forgive but, you will find if you look, He does not Forget, promises this nowhere. That is why Catholics do believe in a Purgatory, which Purges the last remnants of sin. It is why we believe there exist Human Suffering - those who suffer more on this earth will need purging of the remnant of sin, much less, in the afterlife but have sooner arrival in His Presence. There is no sin that He does not forgive, Nothing that He does not know of, No action you can take, He will not forgive. But of course, He is perfect and can forgive, even though His son died so painfully to give us the Open Door of a choice of saying Sorry, of having Forgiveness, and to gain REDEMPTION. But we must remember, we are all human, not God. It is not as easy for us to Forgive as it is for Him, who sent His Son and watched that only Son, die so painfully, but forgives. We forgive with more difficulty but, it can be done. He who seeks such, must act differently and convincingly, and over time. And must remember it is not just us mere mortal humans who cannot forget - it is God too, who does not. So we can forgive but, we cannot forget, and it is only right and just, that to earn redemption must remember it is EARNED it is not just granted. So if someone has "earned" their way onto this BanListing by a wrongful action, you can change. Of course you can start a new yahoo profile and act different and NO MORE TROLL in the future. Either way is the path to redemption, and I pray for evil ones to walk away from that path, In His Name I ask for your success on that journey and hope you choose it. Amen.
